Was anyone else confused by Season 1 time travel episode 'Before I Sleep' I followed everything apart from there being two Elizabeth's I really dont understand how that could be it wasnt an AU so technically (in my mind) the Elizabeth from the future (our Elizabeth) shouldn't have been there only the Elisabeth from the past should have been alive.Well thats what i think anyway anyone else got and 'theroys' on this whole thing?

When we originally went to Atlantis but all died because there was no auto rise from the water. But Weir, Zelenka, and Sheppard got into a jumper that happen to have a time machine and went back to the time of the Ancients. Wier stayed in that time and in stasis she kept the ZPMs working and got the Ancients to put in fail safes for the city to survive. Then we now went to Atlantis we discovered the first Weir in stasis.

Yeah i got that but our Elizabeth should have been the past Elizabeth (Me thinks) since it isnt an AU there shouldn't have been two Elizabeth, she altered the future but there shouldn't have been another Elizabeth because Elizabeth had already went back in time in order to change the past and save the team...Jeeze now im confused lol

Old Elizabeth didn't effect the time-line. She stayed behind on Atlantis, thus never interfering with time. There's no case of the grandfather paradox or the butterfly effect, or whatever you want to call it.
Time on Earth still evolved like it would have the first time around, without any interruption or interference.
